I'm torn between a prompt fest and a fic exchange. Exchanges are a lot more work (or so it seems to me), but everyone is nearly guaranteed to get something. Prompt fests are easy and low key, but you may be the person whose prompts are never filled. But exchanges come with stress that prompt fests can bypass. I don't know, I guess is my point.

That said, I would totally be up for our summer fest to have a summer theme. (June on the Riviera, Diana sweltering in the van, whatever.)

Promptfest are much easier as a mod, I will say that much. And we will have just done wcpairings, too, which is an exchange. Maybe something less structured would be fun at that point.

A structured promptfest would be fun. It's easy to drop put if you need to, since another person isn't receiving your story. But, since there will be deadlines, we can motivate people into writing. For the thing-a-thon, we had like, no parciapanta, and I'd like to see more people writing, drawing, etc.

I sort of like the idea of gathering prompts, then having people claim them (and a posting day at the same time). But I think people should be able to claim a prompt whenever; no need to close that part of it down.

Honestly, I was relieved that anyone participated in the thing-a-thon at all. What if I threw a fest, and nobody came? I thought. It was fun, even if there wasn't a whole lot produced. (Though I wrote five stories, even if they were small, so personally it felt quite productive.)

I guess if you suggested that people could ask for wallpaper/header/icons as well as fic prompts, that would work for me (as they tend to be episode or character based prompts). Whether anyone asked would be up to them - and there might be fic prompts that I could do something for, so don't worry about it.
