Promptfest are much easier as a mod, I will say that much. And we will have just done wcpairings, too, which is an exchange. Maybe something less structured would be fun at that point.

A structured promptfest would be fun. It's easy to drop put if you need to, since another person isn't receiving your story. But, since there will be deadlines, we can motivate people into writing. For the thing-a-thon, we had like, no parciapanta, and I'd like to see more people writing, drawing, etc.

But what we did not have in quantity we more than made up for in quality.

I sort of like the idea of gathering prompts, then having people claim them (and a posting day at the same time). But I think people should be able to claim a prompt whenever; no need to close that part of it down.

Honestly, I was relieved that anyone participated in the thing-a-thon at all. What if I threw a fest, and nobody came? I thought. It was fun, even if there wasn't a whole lot produced. (Though I wrote five stories, even if they were small, so personally it felt quite productive.)
