Round Three: Travel

Round Three of the Awesome Ladies of White Collar prompt fest is now open! The theme for this round is travel. Where have these women been? What have they seen? Where have they had to go, and where do they want to go?  You can either respond directly to the theme and post your work to the community, or you can leave prompts here that relate to the theme. Or you can do both. If you do post your work to the community, please tag it "round 3 - travel".

Before we begin, I just wanted to remind everybody to be respectful, fills for prompts should be posted as a reply to the prompt, or linked in a reply to the prompt.

For fics longer than one comment and vids, please use the following header:

Fill: Around the World
He put a cork board up on the wall above his bed and bought a box full of tacks when she sent the first card from Japan. It had a picture of the Tokyo skyline on one side and a sketch of the koi fish on the samurai bonds on the other side in place of a message. He tacked it to the board koi fish side up. "That's supposed to be my trick," he told Peter.

~*~

The second card she sent she bought in the lobby of her Hong Kong hotel, but she didn't post it until she got to Shanghai. "Wish you were here," she wrote on the plane ride. "So I could get the commission on whatever you tried to steal."

She really did wish he was there, so that she had somebody to mock as she wound her way around the city.

~*~

The third she sent had a picture of a cartoon egg roll and a pair of chopsticks. It had "I finally found artwork of your caliber!" scrawled on the back. Neal put it on the board with the cartoon up, but Mozzie kept turning it over.

~*~

The last card she sent from China had a picture of one of the temples in the Hidden City. She almost left it blank, but she ended up drawing a fingerprint and a magnifying glass on the back. When she looked at it five minutes later, even she couldn't tell which was which. It was better than nothing, she supposed, not quite ready to tell him there was a change of plans, and she wasn't coming home yet.

~*~

When he got the card from Istanbul, he groaned and tore the card in half. An hour later, he fished it out of the trash and taped it back together and stuck it up on the board. The guy she was chasing wanted to fence the vases in France, but she hoped to intercept him. The card said the Hagia Sophia was bigger than she expected, and it had a picture on the front to prove it.

~*~

The only thing the postcard she sent from Greece said was "Have to go to France. I'll pick you up something nice." It had a picture of the Parthenon on it. He posted it picture up next to the Hagia Sophia.

~*~

The postcard from Paris arrived after she did. She tacked it up.

Re: Fill: Around the World
Oh, this was neat! I love how each postcard is a little mini-story in itself.

Love this! There's such a feel for Sara's personality, and [livejournal.com profile] sholio's right, they're all little stories in and of themselves.

Re: Fill: Around the World
Thank you! I love her abrasive snark best, but I try to show her other sides.
