Check In and Stats
Now that the mid-season hiatus has begun, I thought I would check in with everybody and see if anybody had any ideas about where we should go from here.

At the moment, we have:

46 prompts
14 filled
32 unfilled
15 fics written (which means one prompt was filled twice!)
No other kinds of fanworks yet produced.  This grieves me greatly.  we should fix this.

I was thinking of putting together a master list and opening up the community for fanworks about the women of White Collar to be posted to the community, making it a repository for fic, fanart, vids, and other kinds of fanworks instead of just a prompt community.  I was also wondering if anybody would be interested in themed rounds.

I love those ideas! I still like the idea of submitting prompts, but maybe there could be, like, a monthly post where people can post new prompts? Then the fills could just be posted to the comm at any time, with no limit or time frame?

I also really like the idea of opening it up to things like icons and just random 'women of white collar' fic that doesn't have to come from a prompt.

I know that would all take a lot of effort and organisation though, especially if timed/regular rounds became a thing. I'm not sure how keen you'd be to make regular commitments like that.

But I would love to see this comm appearing regularly on my flist :)

Argh, sorry for all the edits. I meant to add I'm trying to write fills - my muse just won't cooperate!

Typed on my phone, please excuse errors.

omg another edit, I'm so, so sorry

Also, yes to themed rounds! :) I like the idea of having something to base a fic on, whether it's themed rounds, prompt rounds, a combination of those things. A picture to base a fic on, an episode to base a fic on, a character, a piece of fan art, etc etc.

Basically, anything which makes this community active and a regular presence on my flist will please me ♥

And that was the last edit, I swear!

I was also thinking themed prompt rounds. Maybe we could combine the two. At the beginning of every round, I post a theme announcement that also serves as a place to post prompts related to that theme, and people can either fill those prompts or respond directly to the theme. I was also thinking of posting an individual round fill list, the way I post a list of all the fics I've written for a given comment meme. (exampe: http://attackfish.livejournal.com/53604.html)

As far as amount of organization, it could be so much worse. I could be running an exchange fest.

The community is already supposed to be open to things like icon fills, fanart, etc, but it hasn't happened. I'm thinking about ways to fix this, and I might just have to lead by example.

Ahh, brilliant ideas! :) Yeah, so long as everything is tagged (please oh please use tags) it should be easy to keep track of everything.

I'm excited! :D We need more fic and fan art with these kick-arse female characters in it!

Tags are a wonderful, wonderful thing, and when I first got on LJ, I couldn't figure out why more people didn't use them.

Hahaha, I'd be so lost without tags. I'm always so annoyed when I go to a journal to find something and there are no tags! :p

ditto. I have all my fic tagged with fandom and type (drabble, shortfic, or chapterfic) and for chapterfics and universes, I have a tag for each universe. Why anybody would neglect to do that much is beyond me. I'll be making a tag for each round, and one each for each different kind of fanwork, and I'll add others as we need them.

Hooray! Very excited about some of the stuff we could see coming through here! :)

And sorry, I replied to that deleted comment. Feel free to take my comment out of action if you so desire :p

I was an idiot, and posted twice without realizing it. It's no problem.

Yeah I think I've only seen one example! For a fandom that has so much art in canon, we're kind of failing at producing it ourselves :p

Maybe I should selfishly start hoping that somebody creates the portrait of Sara I had Neal complete in Painting Pictures :p

Lol, I can just about pull off fanart in Avatar: the Last Airbender fandom, because it's a cartoon.

I also wish we had something like piandao.org for White Collar. They have between 900 and 2000 screencaps from each half hour episode. Really amazing resource.

Hey! I'm the new mod here at wc-women-fest!! Are YOU still interested in writing? I was thinking of doing a monthly prompt challenge, interested??
